Festive fish are another brand-new addition to Disney Dreamlight Valley as of the 1.2 update. The new Festive fish are necessary to catch for players who’d like to complete one of the new ‘Even Fish Are Festive!’ Festive Duty to gain a new festive cosmetic item. While there are just five new fish to catch, it can be hard to figure out where to find them and what to do with them. In this guide, we’ll tell you what the new fish are, where to find them, and what players can use them for.
Where Can The New Festive Fish Be Found?
Fishing in Disney Dreamlight Valley is pretty simple for players to get used to. Fish can be found in many different locations throughout the Valley, and players can know that fish can be caught in any specific location by special colored ripples that appear on the surface of the water. Players can even use bait if they really want to make sure they catch all the fish they set out for.
Just like regular fish, the new Festive Fish is found in its own individual biome throughout the Valley. Unlike regular fish who may have different colored fishing spots to look out for, such as white or gold, players can be certain that the Festive fish they’re trying to find are the correct ones by the red and green bubbles that emerge from each rippling spot. All in all, there are five new Festive fish to catch, including:
Festive Anglerfish: As with regular Anglerfish, Festive Anglerfish can be found in the Forgotten Lands in the northwest of the map. Festive Bass: While regular Bass are very common and can be found in several places around the Valley, Festive Bass can only be found in one of these regular spots. As such, players can find them in the Peaceful Meadow. Festive Fugu: Fugu are one of the hardest fish in the game to catch, and the Festive Fugu is no different! As with regular Fugu fish, the Festive variant can also be found at Dazzle Beach, although unlike with regular Fugu fish, it thankfully doesn’t need to be raining to find the Festive versions. Festive Salmon: These Festive Salmon can be found alongside regular Salmon at the Sunlit Plateau. Festive Squid: As usual, Squid - including the new Festive Squid - can be found in the Glade of Trust.
What Are The New Festive Fish Used For?
Honestly, there aren’t that many uses for the new Festive fish! Since they’re a limited, festive event, they can really only be used to exchange for the special cosmetic item that came with the ‘Even Fish Are Festive’ task. That being said, Festive fish can be used to gift to villagers, and they can be eaten for 2,000 Energy.
However, they cannot be bought or sold. Similarly, if players manage to catch each of the Festive fish, they’ll be rewarded with a brand-new Santa Hat item which similarly cannot be bought or sold.
