Originally released during the ‘90s, gamers had the opportunity to play several officially licensed games based on Disney movies. These titles included Aladdin, The Lion King, and The Jungle Book. With gameplay centered on 2D platforming, these games have garnered quite a nostalgic fanbase over the years. This led to a re-release of remastered editions of The Lion King and Aladdin as part of a 2019 collection. Even though this collection included several different versions of both of these games, another Disney platformer from the same decade, The Jungle Book, was left out. However, that might be changing soon.

Recently, yet another re-release of these classic Disney games was seen on the website for Just For Games, a French video game publisher. One of the highlights of this listing was the inclusion of a new title: The Jungle Book. In addition, the SNES version of Aladdin, which was significantly different from the Genesis and Mega Drive versions, was also mentioned on the site. Based on the information from this website, the collection is supposed to arrive on November 12.
The list of games and versions supposedly coming in this new collection include:
Disney’s Aladdin: SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Sega MegaDrive Disney’s Aladdin: Final Cut: Sega Mega Drive Disney’s Aladdin: Demo Version: Sega Mega Drive Disney’s Aladdin: Japanese Version: Sega Mega Drive Disney The Lion King: SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Sega MegaDrive Disney The Lion King: Japanese Version: Sega Mega Drive Disney The Jungle Book: SNES, Game Boy, Sega Mega Drive
The same features present in the 2019 remastered games are expected to come to The Jungle Book and the SNES version of Aladdin in this updated release of Disney Classic Games. Some of these upgrades include 1080p graphics and quicksaves along with a rewind/fast-forward feature. One detail that remains unclear based on this new information is whether gamers that already own the Disney Classic Games Collection will have to buy this updated version to play the additional content, or whether there is a way to add the new content to the existing collection.
It’s worth noting that this new information about the updated Disney Classic Games Collection has not been confirmed by the developer. However, with a rumored release date of November 12, fans shouldn’t have to wait much longer to learn more about these remasters of classic Disney games.
Disney Classic Games Collection is rumored to release on November 12 for PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
