According to a report from EuroGamer, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut will be available on the Switch on October 12, at least on the digital store, and is said to be priced at around $48, or £35. The physical release of the game won’t be available this time around, but is due to be coming out sometime in 2022.

The Final Cut version of the game was released this year, having been announced last December, and adds a lot of new things to Disco Elysium. Some new aspects that been added into this version include, voice acting for all characters of which there are close to 300, new quests, characters, and locations, as well as a hardcore mode which emphasizes some of the bleak themes of the game. It also adds 4K resolution, with the best iteration of this being on the PS5 port.
The game has also experienced a bit of controversy in the past, particularly in Australia. The classification board of the country, which has a reputation for being quite strict on video games, initially refused a classification for the game, due to its depiction of drugs and drug addiction, crime, and violence. However, Australian authorities did eventually overturn their decision on Disco Elysium, and the game was eventually given an age rating, which meant the Final Cut addition could finally have a physical release Down Under.
What Disco Elysium seemingly gets right that other games get wrong is having a focus on the story, as well as the consequences of player choices. The game itself doesn’t have a combat system to speak of, so its plot, dialogue and overall writing have been instrumental in making the game as successful as it currently is. With the game coming out on the hybrid console, Nintendo fans now have a chance to experience the compelling role-playing game, and with it being the Final Cut edition, they’ll also get the full package as well.
